Assignments and Late Assignments in Non-Clinical Courses: Assignments are intended to assist students with the application of theoretical concepts to clinical practice as they prepare to become professional nurses. Each assignment has specific learning outcomes that correlate to the module, course, program, and university outcomes. It is expected that students will complete and submit the assignment/point-based activity by the due date listed on the course schedule located in the course/learning management system. It is the students’ responsibility to be aware of the course calendar and to comply with the deadlines listed. However, the faculty understand that at times, unforeseen circumstances may interfere with a student’s ability to be timely with an assignment submission and therefore: 1. Each theory course will allow for late assignments up to 7 days past the due date with a grading penalty. 2. Any missing assignment must be submitted by 1159 pm by the 7 th day past the due date. 3. Any late assignment will be docked 10% of the grade for each day that it is late up to the 7 th day. 4. On the 8 th day past the due date a grade of 0 will be entered for the assignment. 5. There is no late assignment grace period for lab/clinical courses (ie any course designated with a C ). Therefore, clinical/lab assignments submitted late would receive a "0." 6. If the assignment had an in-person presentation and that component of the assignment is missed it cannot be made up and the student will receive a 0 for that portion of the assignment. 7. In-class activities and discussion boards worth points cannot be made up if a student is absent from class or does not complete discussion board prompts or submit replies by assigned due dates. The student will receive a 0 for the activity and/or discussion board.
