adherence to program policies, preceptorship content, and preceptor knowledge, accessibility, and teaching quality. A student's rotation grade will not be released until the evaluation of the preceptor and the clinical site has been completed and submitted. Failure to complete this evaluation will result in the student's inability to progress to the next clinical rotation. Completing Mid-Rotation Evaluations Students and preceptors will complete a mid-rotation evaluation together and submit a signed copy to the Director of Clinical Education by Wednesday of the third week of each five-week rotation. The purpose of this evaluation is to monitor and assess the student's progress and clinical competency and to identify student strengths and areas needing improvement before the conclusion of the rotation. Once the student and preceptor have completed the evaluation together, the student is required to enter all data and comments into the program's tracking system and must bring the signed hard copy to the next return-to-campus event. In the event that a student is noted to have difficulty during the clinical year, the Director of Clinical Education may require submission of weekly mid-rotation evaluations. Failure to complete the mid-rotation evaluation, conduct a formal preceptor discussion, or obtain the preceptor's signature at the designated time constitutes a professionalism violation and will result in an Incomplete grade until the requirement is properly satisfied. Clinical Year Minimum Hours Requirement All students are required to meet the minimum clinical hours benchmark as established by the NLU PA Program at 1,600 hours over the course of the 12-month clinical phase. These minimums ensure that each student meets professional licensure requirements post- graduation, as well as providing adequate time to be exposed to a satisfactory clinical experience to meet program competencies prior to graduation. Ongoing faculty review of student logs and hours will take place throughout the clinical phase.
