Students admitted under two-course review status must demonstrate satisfactory academic performance and appropriate professional dispositions during their initial coursework. Faculty and the SPDC may review the student’s performance at the conclusion of the review period. The program reserves the right to deny continuation in the program if concerns arise during this period. Decisions regarding continuation following a two-course review are final at the program level. Grades are appealable through the Academic Appeal procedure and if the university Student Conduct Process is utilized, that decision also maintains an appeals process. Program Dismissal and Re-Entry Students who are dismissed from the Florida/Virtual Counseling program due to remediation plan failure, professional disposition concerns, conduct violations, or other determinations made by the SPDC are not eligible for re-entry into that program. Dismissed students may apply for admission to a different National Louis University program through the standard admissions process. Admission to another program is not guaranteed. Student Success and Retention rely on meeting several measures: Achieving Satisfactory Academic Progress measures and sustaining Professional Disposition Standards. Each is continuously evaluated and has several performance measures. Satisfactory Academic Progress has two significant measures: Passing each course with a “B” or better; Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or better Passing Grades: For graduate students, each course must earn a B or better for the student to pass the course. Any grade below a “B” will result in the student being required to retake the course. Two grades below a “B” in two different attempts of the same course will require a remediation process to assist the student to prepare for a third and final attempt. If the student cannot pass the course with a “B” or better by the third attempt, they will be counseled out of the program.
