clinical site that accommodates employment; or modify program progression requirements because of employment. Students who cannot meet program requirements because of employment may be subject to the same academic, attendance, professionalism, or progression policies applicable to all students. 12. Policy Violations and Student Progress Maintaining employment is not, by itself, considered a violation of this policy when employment is otherwise lawful and do es not conflict with University or program requirements. However, failure to meet program requirements because of employment may result in consequences under the applicable NLU PA Program policy. For example, a student may be subject to academic or professional review if employment contributes to excessive absences, missed examinations, failure to complete assignments or required clinical hours, poor clinical performance, unprofessional conduct, failure to meet competency requirements, failure to comply with clinical-site expectations, patient safety concerns, or failure to meet progression requirements. The program will evaluate such circumstances based on the applicable academic, attendance, professionalism, clinical education, and student progression policies. 13. Student Acknowledgment Upon matriculation, students will acknowledge that they have reviewed and understand this policy and agree that: 1. The NLU PA Program strongly discourages employment during enrollment. 2. The PA Program is a rigorous full-time graduate professional program. 3. Employment may substantially interfere with the time required for academic and clinical success. 4. Students who choose to work remain responsible for meeting all program requirements. 5. The program will not accommodate employment- related conflicts. 6. Employment will not constitute an approved reason for missing required academic or clinical activities. 7. Clinical schedules cannot be modified solely to accommodate employment.
