Meetings will be scheduled for 45 minutes. During the meeting, students will present their research proposals using formal presentation slides (e.g., PowerPoint). The student presentation should be 15- 20 minutes; the remaining time is reserved for discussion and feedback from the committee. Students should distribute the slides to their committee members at least 72 hours before the meeting so that the committee can become familiar with the student’s proposal and rationale beforehand. In the meeting, students can then focus on reviewing the research plan and method (e.g., research design, research question(s), recruitment strategies, measures, plan for data analysis). After the Proposal Meeting is complete, committee members will indicate if the proposal may move forward without changes, may move forward with minor revisions, or requires more substantive revision. If more substantive changes are required, the student must meet with the dissertation chair to discuss the direction of the proposal. This is documented on the Dissertation Proposal Meeting Form (in Tevera ). II.
