Certificate of Approval to Publish After the editor returns the final version of the dissertation with the signed approval form, the student coordinates with their committee to publish the dissertation to the NLU Digital Commons. In addition to completing and documenting the research dissemination task, uploading proof of publishing is one of the final steps of the dissertation process and is required for graduation. Students should publish the final draft to NLU Digital Commons no later than April 30 th of the year in which the student will graduate. To meet this deadline, students should submit final drafts of their dissertations to their chairs no later than the beginning of March. • After approval from the dissertation editor, the chair must approve and sign off on the final edited draft on the Certificate of Approval to Publish form (available in the Microsoft Teams ISPP Student Resources channel ). • The student then circulates the Certificate of Approval to Publish form to the readers for their signatures. • After the entire committee signs the Certificate of Approval to Publish form, the student uploads the form to Tevera. • Finally, the student uploads the full final draft of the dissertation in Tevera.
Important: The student is responsible for getting all signatures on the Certificate of Approval to Publish form and uploading it to Tevera, before then uploading a copy of the dissertation in Tevera AND publishing it to the NLU Digital Commons.
Procedures to Publish After receiving approval from the committee members, students upload the final digital copy of their dissertation to Tevera AND publish it to the NLU Digital Commons, an online platform that provides free access to full-text papers and research.
Information on how to publish to Digital Commons can be found at: https://libguides.nl.edu/dc/Dissertations
